What is synchro skating?
Synchronised skating is the fastest growing discipline of figure skating. It combines the athleticism and artistry of singles, pairs and ice dancing. It’s a highly technical form of team skating characterised by speed, accuracy, intricate formations and transitions. It usually consists of team of 8 6o 16 skaters who perform side by side on the ice.
While figure skating is traditionally an individual sport, synchro skating offers all the benefits of team unity, builds self confidence, teaches good sportsmanship and creates new lifelong friendships while also improving your skating skills at a competitive level.
An application has been made to include synchro skating at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan.
